The Kortright Centre for Conservation is comprised of 800 acres of pristine woodlands just 10 minutes north of Toronto. Its mission is to promote the wise and appropriate use of our natural resources. A major component of this program is Canada's largest renewable energy demonstration site. One of the unique features is the Sustainable Living Centre, which demonstrates the latest developments in resource efficiency, waste-water treatment, and solar and earth energy technologies. ARISE Technologies provided the expertise for the solar electric system. The electricity for lights, appliances and ground source heat pump is provided by a 4kW photovoltaic system. The utility grid connected design is managed by the ARISE GX5000 which eliminates the need for battery storage.
